IIBGA InternetThe Internet is an education network provided to students, staff, and community members. Our goal in providing Internet services is to promote educational excellence by facilitating resource sharing and communication. Access to network services is provided to users who agree to act in a considerate and responsible manner. Use of the computer for programs, software, e-mail and access telecommunications resources (Internet) is a privilege, not a right. Access entails responsibility. Internet users will be held responsible for their behavior while they are on-line. District funding and equipment is to be used only for curriculum based activities. Users will use or access only "school appropriate" language, pictures, text, or any other data on the Internet. Use of electronic mail cannot be considered private communication. The district will maintain full control of the use of district equipment and any communication applications or uses. Users are warned that the Internet provides access to a wide range of materials, some of which may be offensive to the user.
IIBGA-R Internet Transmission of any material in violation of any U.S. or state regulation is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: Copyrighted material, threatening or obscene material, viruses or unsolicited files, or material protected by trade secret. Computers and networks may provide inadvertent access to sensitive, and confidential or restricted files. Any user accessing or copying any information outside the intended purpose of instruction is in violation of this policy and will face disciplinary action. Any user having knowledge of and not reporting an incident that is in violation of this policy is likewise open to disciplinary action. Violations of the policies and procedures of Unified School District #251 concerning use of computers and networks will result in disciplinary action ranging from loss of computer privilege/Internet access to expulsion from school and/or appropriate legal action. |
