Dear Parent(s),

The character trait for February is

Self-Discipline

Controlling of one’s own thoughts and behavior. Before you do it, ask yourself…is it necessary?  Is it kind? Is it right? The color of the month is pink.

Lyon County Spelling Bee

The Lyon County Spelling Bee will be held February 19, at 10:00 a.m. at Admire Grade School. Sydney DeLong, Megan French, and Bryce Humphreys will represent Reading School.  Amanda Pritchard is the alternate. We wish these students best of luck.

Reading Kansas Theme Day!

Reading School is celebrating Kansas Day, on Friday, January 29, with a Kansas Theme day for the whole school.

The day will open with Mrs. Johnson and Mr. Crawford leading the students in Kansas songs. Mrs. Douglas will help students with candle making. Mrs. Newman will be making butter and cream with the students. Mr. Biggs will be reenacting the Civil War. Charlene Osmond will be demonstrating spinning and carding wool. Dr. Azwell will demonstrate the loom and telling stories and Mrs. Voorhees will be helping the students create a school quilt. A big thank you to Ms. Moffatt for organizing the event and providing the school with the Kansas Traveling Trunk from the Kansas Museum.
