Welcome to Mrs. Kuhn's Second Grade!

February 04, 2010
January was another busy month in second grade. In January we studied about Kansas symbols. We made books about Kansas and sunflower cookies on Kansas Day. We celebrated the 100th Day of school. In February we will study about Dental Health and the proper care of our teeth. We will learn about healthy foods. In science we will study about magnets. In math we are working hard on our subtraction facts. In phonics we continue to learn new phonics skills. We are learning phonics rules to help us read unfamiliar words and memorizing some sight words that do not follow the rules. Second graders are reading lots of books in the Accelerated Reader Program. Our reading levels continue to climb higher and higher. Thank you to the parents that helped with the Christmas and Valentines parties. We enjoyed both of them. Jessica Miller is an intern in our classroom. We are glad to have her!
