Classroom Behavior Plans

Our Color Chart:  Everyone starts the day on Green.

Green says, "Ready to Learn."  Throughout the day children's

names move up or down one color depending on their

behavior.  Light Blue says, "Good Work."  Dark Blue says,

"Great Job." Purple says, "Super Day!" These are all great

colors to end the day on.  Under Green is Yellow, "Think About

It." This serves as a warning.  Below that is Orange, "Teacher's

Choice."  The teacher will choose if the child will walk laps at

recess, give up a penny, or if other actions are needed.  On the

bottom is Red, "Bad Day."  We hope none of our friends get

down here, or if they do, they don't stay very long. After a

child has gone through the necessary discipline action they

are once more moved to Green and get to start over.

Store: Throughout the day the class can earn (plastic) pennies

to be kept in their money containers.  They save this money up all

week and on Fridays we shop at the classroom store.  The store

has items that have been donated or purchased that students can

buy with their earnings from the week.  This not only serves as a

behavior plan but helps the students learn how to count pennies,

nickels, and dimes.  They learn to make change on a small scale, and

learn that they can't always have what they want.  Sometimes you

have to save up for the more expensive items, like McDonald's toys

from the $.45 bucket.
