In Communications, we have just finished our first major essay! Sixth grade wrote persuasive essays over the benefits and harmful aspects of Facebook. Seventh and eighth grade conducted interviews and wrote about their future dreams and career goals.  This is in preparation for the Local Writing Assessment, which will be given to grades 7 and 8 later this fall.
 

To celebrate the successful completion of our essays, we constructed our own comic strips using clippings from old newspapers. You can find some photos of this activity on my teacher’s page, and even more on my new “Mrs. Dekat’s Class” Facebook page!
