Mrs. Thomas' Courses
Graphic Design
In Graphic Design we are using Adobe CS5 Illustrator to make complex graphics. Students will soon be learning about complex artwork, how to create blends and work with text and gradients.
Below is an example of one student's work from Unit C.

Yearbook
The yearbook class has many goals for this year's yearbook. Changes are being made and the plan is to make this yearbook something the students of Northern Heights can be proud of and treasure for many years to come. We will continue publishing and printing The Wildcat in-house, which helps keep the cost for students very low compared to schools that are forced to send their yearbooks to publishing companies. The students are excited about the changes and we look forward to the finished product.
Accounting I
In Accounting, we are working our way through the accounting cycle for a service business called TechKnow Consulting. We learned about debits and credits using T accounts last week and this week we are now putting transactions into general journals.
Entrepreneurship
In Entrepreneurship students will soon learn about Business Plans and why they are so important for entrepreneurs. We are also using a retail business simulation program on the computers where the students are learning about running their own grocery/convenience store. They learned about making pricing decisions and will learn about purchasing decisions soon.
Business Essentials
This is a a nine-weeks course offered to freshmen. It is designed to give students a basic understanding of business, marketing and finance. Students learn some skills necessary for other business classes including: navigating the Internet appropriately, using Microsoft Office and a basic understanding of economics, marketing and personal finance.
