County Decision on Mass Gatherings:

Lyon County’s lifting of the maximum group size from 45 to 2,000 does not supersede Governor Kelly’s Executive Order 20-59 (requirement of masks in schools) or the parameters regarding capacity at various school events referenced in the Navigating Change document.  School districts will continue to base our occupancy decisions on venue size, capacity, and our ability to put proper mitigation strategies in place.  Continuing to implement safety protocols and follow occupancy guidelines at events will provide us with the best chance of continuing to participate in extra-curricular activities. Lyon County’s mass gathering decision has minimal impact on our school occupancy plans.  As we plan future events, our ultimate goal will continue to be keeping our staff, students, and communities safe.  We appreciate the collaborative effort between Lyon County Schools, Public Health, and all of our district patrons.

Rationale:  We want our students to have a full season of activities!
