North Lyon County USD 251
October 6, 2020 Update
North Lyon County USD 251 has received confirmation this evening that a second staff member at Northern Heights High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The school district is working closely with the Lyon County Health Department on contact tracing. Any close contacts will be notified by the health department and the school if they need to quarantine. If you are not contacted as a confirmed close contact, you should continue to attend school. USD 251 is continuing to follow our return to school plan, which includes cleaning and disinfecting the impacted areas of NHHS this evening.
In an effort to continue keeping everyone safe, we ask that you closely monitor your student’s health and keep them home if they are not feeling well. Please monitor your child for symptoms including:
- Fever (100.4 or higher)
- Chills, muscles or body aches, stiffness or rigidity
- New loss of taste or smell
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Lower respiratory illness (cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing.)
- Diarrhea, vomiting
Thank you for your patience during this pandemic that has affected everyone. We truly appreciate our ongoing partnership with our staff, parents, and local health department and remain committed to the health and safety of our students and staff. If you have questions, please contact your school administrator or the Lyon County Health Department.
