Just prior to the start of school this morning, Northern Heights High School administration was made aware of a threat of school violence on social media. The school was placed on lockdown and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department provided additional security at Northern Heights. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the threat, the student was not on school property, and was taken into custody at another location. The school lifted the lockdown at 8:25 AM. Students and Staff were never in any danger. The safety and security of our students and staff continues to be our top priority.
