Mr. Robert L. Hampton comes to USD 251 with over 35 years of experience in education. For the past 17 years he has served in an administrative capacity as Principal and Athletic Director.
Mr. Hampton began his career as a high school Science and Physical Education teacher at Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School, Wichita, Kansas, where he also served as Assistant Football, Assistant Basketball and Head Baseball Coach for 20 years.
In 2012, he then began his tenure as Principal and Athletic Director at Riverside USD 114, grades three through eight. At Riverside, he restructured the master schedule to enhance the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). He was instrumental in writing a TASN three-year professional development grant for the school district to implement MTSS K-12. He started student driven parent-teacher conferences, implemented a one to one initiative with I-pads in grades three through eight and integrated Promethean Smart Boards in all classrooms. As Athletic Director, he supported all student athletes and was an enthusiastic supervisor at all of the games.
Mr. Hampton received his Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from Newman University in 2004.
Mr. Hampton and his wife collectively have six children, five grandchildren with one on the way. They are very much looking forward to being closer to them.
