
Congratulations to the girls 4x200. Faith Hamlin, Addisen Petersen, Kaylyn Bish, and Avery Patton broke the record by running a 2:02.99. Previous record was 2:04.43 from 2012 made up of Claire Hamlin, Jordan Wooderson, Riley Houston, and Breanna Brecheisen. Great job NLC!


USD 251 held Preschool Roundup this evening at the Early Learning Center. We are excited about all of our new four year olds for the 2024-2025 school year. We are still accepting both in district and out of district applicants.











The NHHS FCCLA students went to the Kansas State Leadership Conference in Wichita. All of the star event participants did amazing. Both Adaline Brown and Addisyn Hinrichs qualified for the National Leadership Conference in Seattle, Washington. We also had Preston Patton and Addison Landgren, FCCLA seniors, receive scholarships at the Ceremony!

The NHHS Art Club had a great turnout at the Emporia Art walk! Thanks to the Ax Shedd for hosting us. While we were there I even got to throw some axes on the house!

These two FCCLA officers got an NHHS swag basket ready for the NLCYA Fish Fry. Remember to go to the Youth Association in Allen tomorrow to bid on all of the items and have lunch or dinner!


USD 251 North Lyon County Schools recently received two awards from the Kansas State Board of Education:
A Kansans Can Gold Star Award for High School Graduation. Only 66 public and private schools in Kansas received this honor, which is in the top 20 percent of the schools in Kansas. This is the third consecutive year our school has had a 100 percent graduation rate and received this award.
A Kansans Can Bronze Star Award for Civic Engagement. Only 21 public and private schools in Kansas received this honor, which is the top 6 percent of the schools in Kansas. This is the fourth consecutive year our school has received this award.
Congratulations to all North Lyon County students, families, teachers, staff, and administrators for contributing to this success! It's a great day to be a Wildcat!

NLC Early Learning Center was learning about the solar eclipse, that is happening on Monday, April 8th.

April 5th Northern Heights Art club will be presenting artwork at Emporia First Friday Artwalk!
Come see us, we will be at The Axe Shedd on commercial street from 5:00-8:00!





Yesterday Northern Heights participated at the Flinthills League Art juried competition at Mission Valley High School. It consists of several schools and categories.It quite competitive. Students that chose to participate also had an opportunity to attend art workshops.
This year we brought home 1 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze medals and 2 honorable mentions. More photos to come!

Today, Northern Heights High School junior Addison Hinrichs visited the NLC Early Learning Center. Addison taught the preschool children American Sign Language which is her FCCLA project.
