ELC and NLC students and staff enjoyed the Halloween parade and classroom parties yesterday. Thank you to the families of students who joined us and to the community partners who supported the students by providing treats.
Due to an accident, Highway 56 between NHHS and Admire is currently closed. The high school can be accessed by taking Road L to Highway 56. Road 330 can be taken to get to Road L.

NLC will have a basketball meeting for all parents and players on Thursday, November 6, from 6:00-6:30 pm. We would like all parents and players to attend. Coaches will go over team contracts and rules, along with handing out calendars of practices and games. Hope to see everyone there.

Congratulations to USD 251 North Lyon County for being recognized by the Kansas State Department of Education for continued academic excellence. North Lyon County Schools were awarded six 2025 Kansans Can Star Recognition awards! According to KSDE, North Lyon County Schools is 1 of only 7 Kansas school districts to be awarded 6 or more Kansans Can Star Recognition Awards for 2025. Furthermore, USD 251 was awarded a gold star award for Civic Engagement. Only 4 school districts in Kansas received this highest civic engagement award.
USD 251 has a pattern of consistently receiving Star awards with this year's awards bringing the district total to 31 awards in the past 7 years! This continued academic success reflects the commitment to academic excellence in North Lyon County.
USD 251 is extremely proud of our students, teachers, staff, and administrators for these great accomplishments. Our entire school family, including all of our communities should have a great deal of pride for the success of our students are continuing to have. These awards highlight the small-town values, work ethic, and support of our communities and patrons. The NLC Volleyball team played in the LCL Volleyball Tournament at Hartford today. They finished 4th and went 1-2 on the day playing a tough second match against Lebo taking it to 3 sets. Congratulations on a great season!!!
