This week at NLC:
Due to school closures for both NLC and Council Grove- junior high wrestling practice will begin on Tuesday. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm!
Due to road conditions and the forecast of extreme and dangerous low temperatures tomorrow, North Lyon County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26th. All activities scheduled for tomorrow are cancelled. Information on the Lyon County League Tournament will be shared as soon as the information is released.
Tomorrow’s Northern Heights basketball games vs. Flint Hills Christian School will be varsity only, beginning with girls at 4:00 PM, followed by the boys.
COLD WEATHER REMINDER!
As temperatures drop, please be sure your student comes to school dressed appropriately for cold weather. This includes a warm coat, gloves/mittens, hat, long pants, and any other items they may need to stay warm and cozy outdoors. Keep in mind that buses might run late on occasion , so your child might have to wait a few extra minutes.

January is School Board Recognition Month! Our school board members at USD 251 make many decisions for our students and staff. Join us in thanking our school board members this month!

NLC would like to thank our community for coming out and supporting our boys and girls today at the LCL tournament. Girls won their game to finish fifth. Boys lost a hard fought game to take second place. We are so proud of our student athletes and coaches for a great season.
Final scores of the NHHS vs Lebo games! The wildcats pushed through and played their best despite the outcomes. The next games are January 20th at Olpe.
We are excited to welcome our student teachers to NLC Elementary this semester! Ms. Tubach will be working in 2nd grade with Mrs. Hamlin, Ms. Ferris in Kindergarten with Ms. Harrison, Ms. Farnsworth in 2nd grade with Mrs. Hanks, and Ms. Rodriguez-Gil in 5th grade with Mrs. Nightingale. We are grateful to have them join our school community and look forward to a great semester of learning and collaboration together!
