I have taken several phone calls and personal visits, asking me if this mailer was sent by USD 251. The mailer was NOT sent by USD 251 and I will provide more information in the May School District Newsletter.

The Hopkins Foundation recently gave awards to two North Lyon County staff members and one Flint Hills Special education staff member for their great behind the scenes work to make students successful. Those awarded were Stacie Horton, Shannon Hall, and Pam Davis. Congratulations to all!

Due to multiple scheduling conflicts at both NHHS and NLC, the following calendar changes have been made. On Thursday, May 8th, Night of the Arts (only) will start at 7 PM. On Monday, May 12th, Baccalaureate services only will begin at 7 PM. Tuesday, May 13th, Winter and Spring Sports Recognition starting at 6 PM, followed by Senior Awards Night. All of these events will take place at the NHHS gym. We appreciate your flexibility and positive support.
This morning, Justin Clark, LAT, ATC with Newman Regional Health, spoke to the entire freshman class about CPR and AED use!
Each student had the chance to get hands-on practice of these life-saving skills — an important step in helping them feel more confident and prepared in an emergency.
We’re especially thankful to Justin for more than just today’s visit. He’s been a vital part of our team all year, serving as our athletic trainer, making weekly trips to check on student-athletes, and providing support at some of our events.
Thank you, Justin, for your dedication to the health and well-being of our students — both in the classroom and on the field!

Students from Northern Heights attended Field Day at Emporia State University last Friday — and what an incredible event it was! Our students had been working hard all month to prepare, and their effort, enthusiasm, and pride were on full display. From their bright smiles to their sportsmanship and uplifting spirit, they truly lit up the day. We are so proud of them and all they accomplished! 💛🏅👏

Dear Parents/Guardians! A USD 251 school bus was in an accident this morning. All students and our bus driver were not injured. The parents of all students involved have been contacted. We are extremely thankful that everyone is ok!
