U.S. Senator Jerry Moran stopped by Northern Heights High School today for a visit as he was traveling through Lyon County. He was given a building tour by two students.
On April 2nd, Jessica Madinger was honored at the 2025 Kansas Master Teacher Award Ceremony at Emporia State University. Jessica was one of seven teachers selected from across the state as a Kansas Master Teacher. Jessica teaches English at Northern Heights High School. Congratulations Jessica!
Congratulations to Briauhna Pierce and Cooper Woodrow for their basketball post season honors. Bri was selected All Lyon County League Honorable Mention and Cooper was selected All Lyon County League Second Team. Cooper was also selected KSHSAA Covered All State Honorable Mention.

Yesterday, NLC had events for the oldest and the youngest learners in the building!!! 8th graders listened to a presentation about Flint Hills Technical College during the day and Kindergarten Roundup was held in the evening for next year's kindergartners and their parents/guardians!
Northern Heights High School senior Addisyn Hinrichs was recently selected and competed in the Flint Hills Optimist Club's All-Star Basketball Classic. Congratulations Addisyn!
The Northern Heights High School chapter of NHS Annual 3v3 basketball tournament will be held on Sunday, April 13, at 1 pm in the main gym. Use the QR code to register or just come and enjoy a fun afternoon of basketball.

On Saturday, March 29th, Mr. Reist took students to the KSHSAA Solos & Small Ensembles Regional at Butler Community College in El Dorado. Performances were rated on a 1-5 scale, with 1 = Outstanding. All Northern Heights performances earned a 2 = Excellent.

NHHS HOSA students traveled to Manhattan for the State Leadership Conference. Brylee McCullough and Sam Redelfs placed in the top 10 in Forensic Science. Sydney Brotz and McKenzie Olson also placed in the top 10 in Health Career Display. They competed, learned and had some fun.
NHHS is looking to hire an Assistant Track Coach for the upcoming season. Ideally, we are seeking someone with experience or knowledge in running and/or jumping events, but all interested candidates are encouraged to apply.
