
North Lyon County Schools will be utilizing the alternate bus routes for the remainder of this week. Please note that some of the morning pick up times and afternoon drop off times have changed from today's times. In the morning, students will be picked up at NLC at 6:45, Admire 6:50, Reading 6:55, Victory Church 7:00, Allen 7:05, Allen Daycare 7:08, Northern Heights 7:10, gravel pile 7:15 for high school students and 7:35 for NLC students. NLC will be open at 7:15 am for early drop off. In the afternoon, high school students will be dropped off at their normal city stop times. NLC students will be dropped off at the gravel pile at 3:50, Victory Church 3:55, Allen 4:05, Allen Daycare 4:08, Reading 4:10, Northern Heights 4:13, and Admire 4:24. We will continue to check the gravel roads over the next few days and keep you informed when we can safely return to the regular bus schedule. If you have any questions, please call Tracy Posey.


NLC girls basketball team ends season with 2 outstanding wins in the league tournament. Congratulations to the girls and coaches.

Flint Hills Shoot Out begins tonight, 1/17/23, with the boys playing Lyndon at Lyndon, tip off 6:30 PM.
Girls begin tournament play Thursday, 1/18/23, at White Auditorium playing Lyndon @ 7:30 PM.

North Lyon County will be having School tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17. We will be running limited bus service utilizing city stops only. In the morning, students will be picked up at Reading at 6:30, NLC 6:45, Admire 6:50, Victory Church 7:00, Allen 7:00, Allen Daycare 7:05, Northern Heights 7:10, gravel pile 7:15 for high school students and 7:35 for NLC students. Due to the continual impact of winter weather, and the availability of officials, The Flint Hills League has made the following adjustments to the FHL & FHJL basketball tournaments.
FHJL will play Wednesday Jan. 17th at Council Grove

NLC Boys @ 4:15 PM
FHL Shoot Out will now begin Wednesday Jan. 17th
NH boys playing @ Lyndon at 6:30 PM (vs. Lyndon).
NH girls will play @ William Allen White on Thursday at 7:30 PM (vs Lyndon).

UPDATE!!!! NO SCHOOL!!!! Due to significant blowing and drifting snow on the roads, North Lyon County Schools will be closed today, Friday, January 12.


Due to the road conditions, North Lyon County Schools will start two hours late tomorrow, Friday, January 12. No breakfast will be served. Everyone stay safe.

Due to the continuing snow and deteriorating road conditions, NHHS will dismiss at 10:30 am and NLC Elementary will dismiss at 11:00 am today. Lunch will not be served and no evening activities. Please stay safe.


Junior High basketball scheduled for today has been postponed. Makeup dates will be posted when they are available.

Each year, FFA hosts the CTSO lock-in! The kids get an FFA State officer to come work with
them and work on teamwork, leadership, and career building skills. ALL CTSO students welcome (FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, HOSA)! The evening starts Saturday at 6 PM and ends at midnight!


NHHS FCCLA Murder Mystery dinner was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who was able to make it! the kids worked hard and had a great time at the same time! We love having such great community support for these things!










USD 251 staff have been driving the roads and consulting with Lyon County. At this time, school will be dismissed at our regular times. This will allow the county more time to work on the roads prior to school dismissal. Everyone stay safe.
