Today NHHS students were able to listen to presenters on mental health and substance abuse, psychological effects of social media, legal ramifications of impaired driving and physiological effects of vaping and smoking. Last Friday, FBLA put on the annual Veterans' Day Program to celebrate the valor and courage of veterans in our community. We had 15 veterans proudly attend to thank them for their service.





NLC held their Honor Roll Assemblies on Friday to recognize students in grades 3rd-5th and 6th-8th for their academic accomplishments! Students were recognized based on GPA for the Superintendent, Principal, or Counselor Honor Roll. Congratulations students!

FCCLA members will be at the Americus Park tomorrow morning from 9-10:30. They will be collecting bikes and shoes tomorrow. Any condition and any size.


Sixth grade working on a stem project by building catapults. Students finishing a unit over Ancient Greece by using their engineering skills to launch a marble across the room.










NLC boys basketball team defeated West Franklin tonight. Consecutive wins brings their record to 2-1. Great job Wildcats.


Day 2 of the teen traffic safety conference was yesterday! The kids had a great time going through different sessions and learning about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving. We cannot wait to share some of our new knowledge with our family and friends!






NHHS FCCLA is hosting a shoe drive through Thanksgiving break. There are donation boxes at NLC Elementary. Shoes can be any size and any condition.


To wrap up Community Helpers Week, the preschool visited Americus City Hall and learned about managing the day-to-day operations of the city.



Seventh graders spending some time today reading to the preschool students. Students are looking for ways to become engaged in our communities and district.









Congratulations to Northern Heights senior, Chloe Navarro, for being named All Flint Hills League Honorable Mention.


The Preschool made a visit to KansasLand Bank in Americus and learned all about
• Coins and their money value
• Dollars and their money value
• What a vault is
• Money-counting machines
And each preschooler left with a little bag of $83 in shredded money!
